They also initiated the Chapter I "Bull Run Raiders" concept and with 6 other members, traveled 700 miles into Tennessee on a weekday to capture the "Region N Traveling Plaque" and bring it into Virginia for the first time.

In 1998, they became the Chapter Directors of VA-I and in 2000, were nominated and selected to become Senior Chapter Directors. During that period, they both attended the Leadership Training Horizons Program and became Level IV Master Tour Riders in the GWRRA Rider Education Program.

In 2001, they were asked to join the District Staff and revive the District Recruiting and Retention program. George handled the Recruiting statistics and reports, as well as maintaining the Recruiting web site. Isabel maintained the monthly GWRRA Area Report and the Virginia District Chapter Report, as well as updating and checking on individuals' awards and recognition. Their goal was to make Recruiting & Retention well known and accepted in importance, throughout the district.

In 2004, George & Isabel were selected as only the eigthth recipients of the prestigious Vernon L. Needham "Spirit of Virginia" Award for their outstanding devotion and service to Virginia. In 2005, they were asked to take on both the responsibility of the Member Enhancement Division and continue as the Recruiting & Retention Coordinator.

Isabel was born and raised in Caba Rojo, Puerto Rico; where she completed High School and two years of College, before leaving Puerto Rico for New York and joining the Army. She completed schooling at Park College, with two degrees: Computer Sciences & Computer Management Information Systems.

George, a High School Military Academy Student from Kansas City, MO; completed his Undergraduate work at Emporia Kansas State University, with dual Majors in Sociology and Psychology, an Honors Student on the Dean's List and a member of 'PSICHI', the National Honor Society of Psychology. He did his Graduate work at Catholic University, in Behavioral Sciences. Becoming fascinated by Computers, he also attended and graduated from The Computer Learning Center of Springfield as a Computer Programmer in 1988.

George & Isabel have been to every Wing Ding but one, since 1995. They have ridden in 45 states from Georgia to Maine to Montana, across the mountains of Vermont into Canada, over the Rockies in Wyoming to California and back across the mountains of Utah & Colorado and all states across the Midwest. Isabel has stated that she has been to more places on a Motorcycle, than she ever thought of going to, by any means. She's made more friends in the past eleven years than she has "cooked meals." She loves the people in GWRRA. George enjoys the Groups rides, the unity of Gold Wing Riders and the security of riding a Honda Gold Wing.

Both Isabel and George are Military Retirees, with Isabel having served 20 years and George, 30 years in the Army (17 in the Infantry). Upon retiring in 1988, George commenced work in the Computer field for the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring again in 2005. When she retired, Isabel became a civilian employee at the Naval Yard, specializing in conducting training courses in various Computer languages & applications, traveling all around the United States & overseas; until a serious head injury from a fall at work, on an ice-slick parking lot, forced her into retirement.

George & Isabel have toured through 45 of the 50 states on their motorcycle and were planning on stepping down from the District staff to complete their quest to ride in all 50 states, when asked to become the Assistant District Director (North). George & Isabel both decided that "this was an opportunity to help Virginia chapters that they could not turn down".
