Member Enhancement Coordinators (MEC)
CR & Diane Griffith

CR and I would like to introduce ourselves as the new Member Enhancement Coordinators for the Virginia District. We are both excited and humbled to be asked to fill this position. After talking with Mike and Angie Mitchell the new District Directors, and the International Member Enhancement Coordinators, Linda and Ed Johnson we feel that with their knowledge and experience, and their assurance of help and support that CR and I will be able to fill this position for our Virginia District.

CR and I live in Luray, Virginia, which is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, and along with members of our local chapter have had some wonderful and exciting times on our Gold Wing. We have three sons and ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

CR retired from the Shenandoah National Park in 1999, then took on the awesome job as a trike installer for a well know company. Doing this has opened our eyes to helping people experience biking in many different aspects.

We joined GWRRA in 1996 after the purchase of our first Gold Wing—what a beauty, a 1997 Candy Apple Red SE.

In 1997 along with some new found Gold Wing friends we helped form Chapter R of Harrisonburg, CR and I started out as Assistant Directors under Ken and Bonnie Munson; in 1999 we stepped up to Chapter Directors; 2001 became the new R&R directors for the chapter, then in 2004 took on the position as Newsletter Editor for the Chapter. The friends we have made and the places visited, never would have happened without our Wing.

As the new MEC we have been looking at several couples who are already experienced and in place for specific programs as coordinators. With the help and suggestions of Mike and Angie Mitchell we feel confident that we will have a wonderful group of coordinators in place soon. We are looking forward to helping and working along with the Virginia Staff to make the upcoming years full of fun and excitement for our district.
