MRF PUSHES HIPAA REVISION - The Motorcycle Rider's Foundation (MRF) has instrumental in bringing to the congress a "bill to promote health care coverage parity for individuals participating in legal recreational activities or legal transportation activities." This HIPAA Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act is required because of the rule-making that now allows insurance companies to limit coverage to people participating in legal recreational activities (i.e., motorcycling, ATV, sky-diving, etc.). Read the Press Release and then get involved by going to the AMA's Rapid Response website and send a letter to your Congressperson. This can affect us all, so JUST DO IT!!!
DID YOU SEE THE GORILLA - If you've ever wondered how drivers could look you right in the eye, and then go ahead and pull right out in front of you on your bike, then maybe this article from the American Motorcyclist will help explain the problems. It is a real eye-opener and is must reading for ALL motorcyclists. HEADLIGHT MODULATOR STATUTES - The issue of the legality of headlight modulators has been raised once again. To make sure that everyone has the very latest information concerning the acceptability of these units, please go here to download the applicable Federal and VA State statutes (90k PDF). It would probably be a good idea to carry copies of these on your bike with you if you have one of these units installed. |
